Owner - Coach
Health had always been a heavy priority in life, but it wasn’t until spending some time under Tommy Moffit and the LSU Strength & Conditioning Program that Chris truly fell in love with fitness. As it came time to hang up the helmet and shoulder pads, a sense emptiness began to develop inside. In June of 2012, while watching TV, Chris stumbled upon an airing of the 2011 CrossFit Games. Overwhelmed with curiosity, Chris sought out the nearest affiliate, and the rest is history. Majoring in Biological Sciences, Chris had aspirations of going to medical school and providing care to those that need it. However, through the platform that CrossFit provides, Chris is able to impact people’s lives on a daily basis using exercise and nutrition long before they ever need medical treatment.
Coach - Personal Trainer
Jonnie joined the team in late 2012 via the weightlifting development center at Louisiana State University – Shreveport. Originally from Michigan, Jonnie grew up playing hockey for over a decade and was involved competitively in Olympic Weightlifting for five years. In Michigan, Jonnie trained strictly on the Olympic lifts at a CrossFit affiliate, but says “I probably would have gotten bored with the sport had it not been for the CrossFit family that was there with me every day, busting their asses. My experience with CrossFit has been only positive and I’m pumped to work with everyone at Ex Athletics!” His passion for the lifts and his love for coaching are a vital role in the development of our members. Jonnie is currently in the process of applying for Physical Therapy School, with the intent to bridge the gap between therapy and exercise.
